Porcinis

Porcini mushrooms (Boletus edulus sp.), King boletes or ceps are choice, wild edible mushrooms that are widely distributed throughout the Northern Hemisphere. They grow in conifer and deciduous forests, fruiting in early summer and fall. Porcinis are a prized ingredient in many cuisines and retain their rich flavor when dried and reconstituted. Under ideal conditions, the caps can grow to a diameter of 8″ or more. Because they are mycorrhyzal with trees, they cannot be grown commercially.
