A northern/Baltimore oriole’s nest, (with dried umbrella magnolia leaves and beauty berries) that I found on the ground, constructed with strips from a plastic tarp. When I’m out in nature, I see so many nests that have some plastic incorporated into them. To me, it speaks of fewer farms (less horse hair, wool, etc. available to use as nest materials), the adaptability of nature’s creatures and the ubiquity of plastic litter in our world.
